Asus Eee PC 1002H
Asustek has silently launched the Asus Eee PC 1002H netbook, featuring a 10-inch 1024×600 LED backlight display and Intel’s new Atom N280 CPU at 1.66GHz.
The 2.65-pound Eee PC 1002H includes 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home preloaded, and a 5-hour battery.
There are also a 92%-sized keyboard, 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN port, three USB ports, a VGA output, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.
The 1002H will be available in white, black, and pink color.

Intel is readying Centrino ” Montevina Plus “, an updated version of the existing Montevina laptop platform.
The new platform, expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2009, will include Penryn-based processors running as fast as 3GHz or more, and greater high definition multimedia capabilities. In addition, the Montevina Plus will include new ultra-low-voltage chips for inexpensive ultraportable laptops.
Montevina Plus is likely to be Intel’s most important update to its notebook platforms before the company starts shipping the new 32-nanometer Arrandale chips for laptops later this year.
Asus F50SV-X1
The Asus F50SV-X1, a 16-inch notebook with the latest NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M video card, is now available in the US through Newegg.
Along with the GT 120M dedicated GPU that includes 1GB of video memory and 32 processing cores, the F50SV-X1 comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor at 2GHz, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive with Windows Vista Home Premium installed, and a DVD burner. Laptop’s display resolution is 1366 x 768.
The 6.3-pound notebok supports 802.11n wireless networking and has a built-in web camera.
The Asus F50SV-X1 is priced at $799, after $100 instant off.
Dell Vostro 1720
Dell has unveiled recently the Vostro 1720, a low cost 17-inch business laptop.
The Dell Vostro 1720 features the Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated or the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS 512MB dedicated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, up to 250GB of HDD storage, and a DVD burner or Blu-Ray drive.
Display choices are 1440×900 anti glare and 1920×1200 glossy.
The 1720 also includes stereo speakers, optional 1.3MP web camera with microphone, 802.11n WiFi, Ethernet LAN, optional Bluetooth, optional fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module 1.2, six USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, an 8-in-1 media card reader, a VGA output, and a Firewire port.
The 17-incher weighs 6.8 pounds with a 6-cell battery and runs Windows Vista operating system.

Samsung NC20 Netbook
The Samsung NC20, a 12.1-inch netbook based on VIA’s Nano processor, is now available in the United States.
Newegg sells the 3.3-pound NC20-21GBK black model with 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home preloaded, the VIA Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics, and a 6-cell battery. The VIA Nano U2250 CPU runs at 1.3GHz, while the display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The Samsung NC20-21GBK also includes a standard-sized laptop keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Bluetooth, an Ethernet port, three USB ports, a VGA output, and a 3-in-1 media card reader.
The netbook is priced at $549.99.
Acer has announced an 11.6-inch Aspire One (751) netbook model, featuring Intel’s Atom processor.
The netbook is based on the Intel US15W Express Chipset and has a 160GB hard drive, a built-in webcam, support for WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, and a multi-in-one memory card reader.
Macles previously reported that the 11.6″ Aspire One uses the Atom Z530 CPU at 1.6GHz. The display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, according to the website.
“In the 11.6 inch versions, the attention to detail is extreme: the keyboard is ’soft-touch’, to increase typing conform and give a pleasant feeling while chatting on-line with the friends. Dolby Pro Logic sound and high-definition WXGA back-lit LED screen simulate the most advanced multimedia entertainment station; the extreme slimness, reduced to 2.5 cm of thickness, weighing just a little more than one kilo and with an 8 hours based on 6 cell 5200 mAh battery make the Aspire One easy to take with you,” Acer’s press release says.
The mini laptop will be available in four glossy colors – white, dark blue, red and black.
Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $379.99.
MSI Wind U123
MSI has announced the Wind U123 netbooks, featuring a 10-inch display and Intel’s Atom N280 1.66GHz processor.
The first three models in the MSI Wind U123 Series are the U123, U123H and U123T, all based on the Intel 945GSE chipset. The Windows-compatible netbooks come with 1GB of DDR2 RAM, up to 160GB of hard drive space, and a 3- or 6-cell battery. The LED backlight display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.
There are also a 1.3MP or 2MP web camera, depending on model, stereo speakers, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, optional Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN port, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.
The standard U123 and the U123H with 3.5G HSDPA mobile broadband support have three USB ports. The U123T has two USBs, but includes a built-in TV tuner.
The netbooks weigh around 2.2 pounds. MSI says the U123 Series’ styling is different from the “round and cute” U100. The U123 has “sharper lines and more stylish new colors like the pearl white, dolphin gray, midnight blue and silver red favored by young professional office workers”.
