MSI has announced the Wind U135DX 10-inch netbook with a new design and DDR3 memory support.

The MSI Wind U135DX is coated in “MSI’s Color Film Print with elegant patterns set off by the NB’s silver trim and wavy lines”. The netbook features the Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, GMA 3150 integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 160GB or larger hard disk, a 3-cell or optional 6-cell battery for up to 7 hours of run time, and Windows 7 Starter operating system.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

MSI’s new netbook also includes a chiclet-style keyboard, a “20% bigger” touchpad, 0.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a 4-in-1 card reader, and a VGA output.

It starts at 2.65 pounds and comes in blue, red, or silver color.

Gateway Unveils LT23 Netbook

Gateway Inc. has announced the 10.1-inch Gateway LT23 Series netbook with a new fashionable design.

The Gateway LT23 features the Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, up to 250GB HDD, and a 6-cell battery for up to 8 hours of run time.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.

Gateway’s 2.76-pound netbook also includes an integrated web camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a VGA output, and a multi-in-one card reader.

According to the press release, the “new design features an organic woven pattern that appears to be mosaic, making it a chic fusion of classical design with a modern twist.” “The color-on-color pattern appears on the matte cover as well as the palm-rest, bringing a cohesive feel to the design of the Gateway LT23 Series, and ensuring that it looks incredibly stylish from any angle,” Gateway says.

It is available in champagne, pearl and black color.

The Gateway LT23 starts at $329.99.

The Acer Aspire One AOD260 (D260) 10.1-inch netbook is now available.

Amazon, Walmart, and Staples offer the Aspire One AOD260 with the Intel Atom N450 processor and 1GB DDR2 memory or the N475 CPU and 1GB DDR3 RAM. The netbook features Intel’s GMA 3150 integrated graphics, a 160GB or 250GB hard drive, a 3-cell battery for up to 4 hours or a 6-cell battery for up to 8 hours of run time, and Windows 7 Starter OS.

Its LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1024×600-pixels.

The D260 also includes a built-in 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, a multi-in-1 media card reader, and a VGA output.

It comes in black, charcoal, pink, or purple color and weighs from 2.43 to 2.76 pounds, depending on battery capacity.

Prices range from $298 to $329.99.

Cisco has unveiled Cisco Cius, a “first-of-its-kind” business tablet designed for mobile collaboration.

The 1.15-pound Cius has a 7-inch display and Android operating system. The device delivers virtual desktop integration with access to the full range of Cisco collaboration and communication applications, including HD video.

Cisco’s Cius features an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 32GB of flash memory, an 8-hour detachable battery, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G/4G mobile broadband, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, a front-mounted 720p 30fps HD camera, and a 5-megapixel rear facing camera.

Optionally, customers can get an optional HD audio docking station with a telephone handset speakerphone, DisplayPort and USB ports.

General availability of the Cius is expected in the first quarter of 2011.

ASUS-Preparing-USB-3-0-Laptops-2

Asustek Computer has released the Asus U-Bamboo and NX/N/U series laptops.

The U-Bamboo laptops feature a chassis made of bamboo, 13.3-, 14.1- and 15.6-inch panels, Intel’s Core i5-450M processor, Nvidia GeForce 310M 1GB dedicated graphics, and USB 3.0 support.

The NX90JQ will have the Intel’s Core i7-720QM processor, Nvidia GeForce “334M” 1GB graphics, 8GB of DDR3 memory, 1TB of hard drive storage, USB 3.0, and Sonic Master audio technology, which Asustek jointly developed with Bang and Olufsen ICEpower.

Asustek will also launch the model N53Jh featuring a 15.6-inch display, 13.3-inch U35 and a 14.4-inch U45.

The U-Bamboo series pricing will range from $1,288 to $1,351. It will be available in mid-June. The NX90JQ will be available in July for $2680. The U35, U45 will be priced at US $1,200 and $1,260, but there is no info on availability.

MSI has presented the AMD Ultrathin Platform-based Wind U250 12.1-inch laptop at an event in France.

The Wind U250 includes the AMD Athlon II Neo K325 processor at 1.3 GHz, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and the most likely 1366×768 display resolution.

MSI’s U250 runs Windows 7 OS and is expected to hit the market this summer.

There’s no info on pricing.

Apple has released recently the updated MacBook Pro laptops with the new 2010 Intel Core processors, including the 17-inch MacBook Pro MC024LL/A.

The MacBook Pro MC024LL/A with the aluminum unibody enclosure features the Intel Core i5 CPU at 2.53GHz or Core i7 at 2.66GHz, a switchable graphics solution combining the NVIDIA GeForce GT330M 512MB video card and Intel’s HD graphics, 4 or 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard disk space or up to 512GB solid state drive, the SuperDrive DVD burner, and a battery life of “8 to 9 hours”.

Its 1920×1200-pixel LED-backlit display has a glossy or anti-glare coating, depending on customers’ choice.

The notebook also includes a multi-touch trackpad and illuminated keyboard, iSight video camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB ports, a Mini DisplayPort output, SD card and ExpressCard slots, and a FireWire 800 port.

Apple’s MacBook Pro MC024LL/A runs Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.

Customers can buy the notebook online direct from Apple for a base price of $2,299 or through MacMall which offers mail-in rebates and instant off for a total of around $130 savings.

MSI has announced the Classic Series CX623 multimedia-oriented 15.6-inch notebook.

The MSI CX623 features the Intel Core i5 processor, Nvidia GeForce 310M 1GB GPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and a 320 or 500GB hard disk, and a screen resolution of 1366×768-pixels. There’s no info on optical drive.

MSI’s 5.5-pound laptop also includes a chiclet-style keyboard, a 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, two USB ports, an e-SATA/USB port, a 4-in-1 card reader, and HDMI and VGA outputs.

There is no info on pricing and availability at the time of this writing.

Gateway has updated the mainstream NV Series notebooks by adding the 15.6-inch NV59 and 17.3-inch NV79 Series to the line-up.

The new Gateway NV models feature the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors, up to 8GB DDR3 memory, 320GB to 640GB hard drive storage, the Intel HD integrated graphics, ATI Mobility Radeon HD dedicated GPU choice in the NV79, optional Blu-ray drive, webcam, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, a multi-gesture touchpad, and a dedicated numeric keypad.

The NV5 15.6-inch models boast a 1366×768 resolution, while the Gateway NV7 Series is at 1600×900.

The NV59/79 Series retail prices start at $629.99. The first model to be available will be the Gateway NV59C09u. Additional models in the line will be available at US retailers over the coming weeks.

Asustek has announced the 10.1-inch Asus Eee PC 1015P and 1015EP netbooks, providing “13.5 hours” of battery life with the included 6-cell battery.

Both models feature the Intel Atom N450 processor, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk capacity, a 1024×600 LED-backlight display, and Windows 7 Starter operating system.

The Eee PC 1015P and 1015EP also include a 0.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, mic, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, three USB ports, an MMC/SD (SDHC) card reader, and a VGA port.

The difference between the netbooks is in case color options. The 1015P comes in matte white, black, and blue color, while the 1015PE color options include matte white, black, blue, and red, as well as glossy “in-mold” white, black, pink, and red.

The HP ProBook 4425s 14-inch business laptop based on the new 2010 AMD Mainstream Notebook Platform is now available for purchase.

The ProBook 4425s comes with the AMD Phenom II Quad-Core P920 processor at 1.6GHz, Turion II Dual-Core P520 2.3GHz, or Athlon II Dual-Core P320 2.1GHz CPU, ATI Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard disk space, and a DVD burner.

Its LED-backlit anti-glare or optionally glossy display has a resolution of 1366×768-pixels.

HP’s new laptop also includes an integrated 2MP web camera, stereo speakers, a microphone, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit LAN, three USB ports, an eSATA/USB port, an ExpressCard slot, a media card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs, a spill-resistant keyboard, and a multi-touch trackpad.

The HP ProBook 4425s with the standard 6-cell battery starts at 4.71 pounds without the optical drive, or 5 pounds with ODD.

Operating system choices include Windows 7 (Professional, Home, and Starter), Vista and SUSE Linux Enterprise 11.

The ProBook 4425s is available via THE HP official site for the starting price of $619.
